Weekend Spiritual Friendship Group
CHANGE OF DATE: This month, the Weekend Spiritual Friendship / Community Group will meet Saturday, December 18 at 10:30 am instead of its usual 4th Sunday time. This is an opportunity to build community, share our spiritual journeys, ponder questions about spirituality, and offer spiritual support. AFM Sendoff for Francis Wayne
Please join us on Zoom as our Meeting holds our dear Friend Francis Wayne in the Light as he leaves for Kenya as a Maryknoll Lay Missionary. We will settle into Worship, then ask Francis for an update on his work and plans. After that, we invite Friends to share on this joyous occasion however they are led as we all hold Francis in the Light. There will be plenty of time for all.

Support for Afghan Refugees
In collaboration with CWS (Church World Service), the refugee agency long known to provide assistance to asylum seekers entering the U.S., AFM’s ad hoc group on Supporting Afghan Resettlement is currently collecting gift cards from Walmart and Target. CWS has indicated that
getting these cards into the hands of Afghan refugees currently based in Lancaster, PA would be of the most benefit to them at this time.
Should you be interested in contributing gift cards, please put them in the red box on the counter inside the lobby of the Meeting House or slip an envelope that is clearly marked “For Afghan Refugees“ through the mailslot next to the front door. (Mailing the cards is discouraged.) Your participation is urgently needed.
Please note our connection with CWS through Friends United Meeting (FUM): FUM is part of CWS and AFM is part of FUM.
For more information, see the 11/26 “Gift Card Initiative“ email or contact Minette C. at amclarkeswindle@gmail.com.

Christmas Eve Meetings for Worship
Our tradition of gathering together for a Christmas Eve worship service continues this year on December 24 at 7 pm. We have a new twist this year and will be offering two concurrent options for gathering. (They will not be linked with each other through technology). We hope you, your family, and friends will join one of these beloved, yet relaxed, Meetings for Worship where we pause to breathe in the full spirit of the holidays. All ages are welcome.
- On-line on Zoom
- In person – indoors, masks required. For planning purposes, please contact Nan E. at info@annapolis.org asap if you are planning to attend in person.

Information Needed
If you or your committee has an event coming up, please send the information to communications@annapolisfriends.org. Specific wording for the description, who to contact for more information, the official AFM email address for the contact person, as well as the date, start time and location (or Zoom) will be needed. Getting information out to the community is an important service and your help with making that information as useful, specific and interesting is much appreciated. Please note that if information is not received close after the close of the Meeting for Worship each Sunday, it may not be added to the Weekly Announcements.

5th Night Light – Every Thursday evening
Every Thursday from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm, the AFM community engages in a spiritual practice that acknowledges the Light of God within each person and reinforces that to be in community is to actively care for one another. During this time, Friends hold people and situations who need additional spiritual support in the Light. Friends will pause wherever they may be, read the list of names, and hold each person or situation in our hearts and in the Light. On Wednesday, the list of names or situations are sent out to the AFM-Announce list.
