AFM Library

The AFM Library Committee is working on updating the collection and noticed that there are books that were checked out a long time ago and have not been brought back to the library. Likely, the pandemic had something to do with this issue, but we now have open doors for the return of library books and the Library Committee is encouraging Friends to bring the books back. There are people who would also like to borrow some of the books that are still out in circulation. Thank you, in advance, for your help with this project.

Contact Nan E. for more information by email to library@annapolisfriends.org.

On July 24th (Saturday) at 10:30 pm, the Weekend Spiritual Friendship / Community Group will be meeting in-person at the meetinghouse. The Weekend Spiritual Friendship / Community Group will be meeting monthly on Saturdays. The group is mainly meant as a way to build community, spiritual support, and share our spiritual journeys and questions about spirituality. This group is open to anyone affiliated with Annapolis Friends Meeting.  While planned as a “hybrid” meeting where some people will meet in-person outside on the Meetinghouse patio and others will be joining via zoom, due to technical difficulties the group is only meeting in person. Worship Sharing – Community Visioning

On July 25th (Sunday) at 9:15 am, there will be a  As we emerge from our isolation with our hopes and dreams in tact, let’s come together (virtually) for an AFM Community Visioning and Worship Sharing in a Meeting for Learning next First Day (July 25) at 9:15.  And possibly a second Meeting for Learning on August 8 to follow up.

Let’s Listen together for AFMs Growing Edges and share what we are hearing.

As a community, what are we being called to do? What do we each embrace, encourage, and wish to make happen?  What is our essence as a Friends’ community? What is ours to do?

We expect that the July 24th Worship Sharing to Part I and for Part 11 to take place on August 8th.  We have no proposed outcome; just listening deeply to Spirit’s guidance and sharing together

Friends Writing Together

At 12:30pm on Sunday, July 25th, Friends Writing Together allows us to indulge our creative selves and let words pour from our deepest places. What arrives may be a funny or poignant memory, a work of fiction, new lyrics or a poem, often surprising us with where we have been led. During the gathering, writing prompts are offered which begin the flow, and we write for 8 minutes. We then have the option to share our writing with the other participants, who offer not critique, but what moved them. We are a warm, welcoming group, so if you would like to put pen to paper or fingertips to keyboard, join us.

5th Night Light – Every Thursday evening

From 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm on every Thursday, the AFM community engages in a spiritual practice that acknowledges the Light of God within each person and that to be in community is to actively care for one another. During that time, Friends hold people and situations who need additional spiritual support in the Light. Friends will pause wherever they may be, read the list of names, and hold each person or situation in our hearts and in the Light. On Wednesday, the list of names or situations are sent out to the AFM-Announce list.
