Volunteers for Winter Relief
In conjunction with many other faith communities in Anne Arundel county, AFM contributes to a winter relief effort to provide shelter for unhoused people during the winter months. This year, AFM will be assisting by staffing volunteers at the overnight shelter during the week of March 21-28. We need volunteers for both 7pm-midnight shifts and midnight-7am. The shelter is at Magothy UMC on Mountain Road in Pasadena.
Please let Peter Meredith, meredith.peter@gmail.com, know if you are interested in volunteering to help.

Our AFSC liaison, Joan M., highlights several interesting articles about The Rev. Martin Luther King and AFSC’s work with him that was recently posted on their blog and encourages Friends to complete the survey about the future direction of AFSC.

5th Night Light – Every Thursday evening
Every Thursday from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm, the AFM community engages in a spiritual practice that acknowledges the Light of God within each person and reinforces that to be in community is to actively care for one another. During this time, Friends hold people and situations who need additional spiritual support in the Light. Friends will pause wherever they may be, read the list of names, and hold each person or situation in our hearts and in the Light. On Wednesday, the list of names or situations are sent out to the AFM-Announce list.
