On Monday, November 8th from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, we will hear from author Dotty Doherty and talk about how two women managed the issues of aging and disease. How do we weather the fear and depression? What can bring forward beauty in the experience? Can we emerge more vibrant and engaged from our challenges?
Annapolis Friends Meeting’s Pastoral Care Committee invites you to join us and Friends from around BYM region on Zoom (see the Calendar) on Monday Nov. 8 from 7-8 pm as Dotty Doherty leads a reflection and sharing on her new book: Buoyant: What Held Us Up When Our Bodies Let Us Down.
A brief description is below. All are welcome–no preregistration required. Link is on the AFM calendar.
Description: Friends are invited to join an online discussion around Dotty Holcomb Doherty’s new book, Buoyant: What Held Us Up When Our Bodies Let Us Down – a reflection and examination of two women living fully in the midst of uncertain health and pending death. For this Zoom event, sponsored by Annapolis Friends Meeting’s Pastoral Care Committee, we will engage with Dotty in an ongoing contemplation of these challenges whether through disease or aging. How do we live most truthfully and deeply, with self-awareness and self-compassion, when our health and abilities decline? (Purchasable through New Bay Books).
