The Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) in Anne Arundel County became Anne Arundel Connecting Together (ACT) on October 4th with 1,100+ attending from numerous faith groups and NGOS. Annapolis Friends brought over 1/3 of its congregation to take part in the joyous launch of this interfaith, interracial, bipartisan promise of Hope and Action. Most local political candidates from both parties were there and agreed to receive future requests from ACT–noting the formative numbers, diversity and passion representing in the evening’s events. Six Research Action Teams are actively educating themselves on the issues of Gun Violence, Immigration, Education, Housing, Mental Health, and Transportation. Annapolis Friends look forward to continuing our relationship and offering our support and guidance in the years to come.
