  1. I liked what I read. Finding opportunities to develop friendships with others is challenging. Could we consider partnering with for example a black church or members of a Muslim group?

    • This is very consistent with AFM’s recommended actions on the anti-racist minute to “Make it our custom regularly to seek visits with our African-American neighbors and others we perceive as different in their faith communities and elsewhere to listen and understand their lives and their concerns.” It has been a challenge to do this during the COVID pandemic, although we continue to share some cooperative efforts with our neighbor St. Philip’s Episcopal Church. AFM welcomes specific suggestions for further partnering. Maybe we might cooperate in assistance for Afghan refugee families expected to arrive soon in our area? The AFM Peace & Social Concerns Committee conducts regular meetings and discussion forums. Please bring your suggestions to one of these events.
